Denial of service via unsafe property paths
Published Sep 24, 2025 · Updated Sep 24, 2025
Prototype pollution in json-schema-editor-visual 1.1.1 and earlier allows attackers to modify Object.prototype through crafted paths. The setData and deleteData functions traverse attacker-supplied nested property paths without rejecting prototype-chain keys before assigning or deleting the target property. Processing an attacker-controlled schema path requires no privileges or user interaction and can crash or destabilize the consuming application.
