Remote command execution via unsanitized interface parameter
Published Sep 18, 2025 · Updated Sep 18, 2025
Command injection in COMFAST CF-XR11 firmware 2.7.2 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary system commands through the multi_pppoe API. The sub_423930 function in /usr/bin/webmgnt inserts the unsanitized phy_interface value into an ifdown/ifup command string passed to system() when action is one_click_redial. Exploitation requires a crafted POST request and user interaction; successful execution can expose device files, alter the router, or fully compromise it.
