CVE-2025-57282Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Command execution via unsanitized binPath output

Published May 18, 2026 · Updated May 18, 2026

Command injection in the npm ngrok package 4.3.3 and 5.0.0-beta.2 allows attackers to execute host OS commands through getVersion. The getVersion function passes the return value of the caller-supplied binPath option into a child_process.exec command string without neutralizing shell metacharacters. Exploitation requires an attacker to influence the options supplied by a consuming Node.js application; injected commands run with that application process's privileges.
