Admin-authenticated SQL injection via word parameter
Published Sep 4, 2025 · Updated Sep 4, 2025
SQL injection in the words.php admin panel of VX Guestbook 1.07 allows remote authenticated users with admin access to alter database queries. The panel fails to neutralize SQL syntax in the word POST parameter before using the supplied value in an SQL command, allowing the input to change query semantics. Administrative authentication is required; successful exploitation permits attacker-chosen SQL operations within the database account's permissions.
