CVE-2025-57227Public exploit

Local SYSTEM escalation via unquoted service path

Published Oct 29, 2025 · Updated Oct 29, 2025

Unquoted service path handling in Kingosoft Technology Kingo ROOT 1.5.8.3353 allows local users to gain SYSTEM privileges on Windows. The auto-start KingoSoftService runs as LocalSystem from an unquoted executable path containing spaces, allowing Windows to resolve a planted executable in a writable parent directory before the intended service binary. Exploitation requires local low-privileged access and write permission to an earlier path segment; successful execution grants operating-system control when the service starts.
