Authentication bypass in Signal for Android 7.41.4 allows physically proximate attackers to access locked messages using newly enrolled biometrics. The biometric authentication handler continues to trust device biometrics after Android enrolls a new fingerprint instead of requiring fresh app authentication. Exploitation requires physical possession and knowledge of the device PIN or password; the added fingerprint can then unlock Signal to read messages or send them as the device owner.
