Administrator-level stored XSS via unescaped Custom CSS
Published Jun 6, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored XSS in Developer Formatter 2015.0.2.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through Custom CSS. The Custom CSS settings path stores administrator-supplied stylesheet content without sufficient sanitization and renders it into pages without output escaping. Exploitation requires administrator access and either WordPress multisite or disabled unfiltered_html; the script executes when a user visits an injected page.
