Authenticated command execution via FreeMarker template injection
Published Jun 5, 2025 · Updated Jun 5, 2025
Server-side template injection in AgileBPM 2.0 through 2.5.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute operating-system commands. SysToolsController.parseStrByFreeMarker passes the request body's str value through AbFreemarkUtil into StringTemplateLoader.putTemplate and processes it as a FreeMarker template without validation. A valid Authorization bearer token is required; a crafted template can invoke FreeMarker's Execute utility and run commands with the server process's privileges.
