CVE-2025-56558Network attack vector

Device control via retained MQTT credentials

Published Oct 29, 2025 · Updated Oct 29, 2025

Improper access control in Dyson MQTT server 2022 allows remote authenticated users to control transferred devices with retained credentials. The service continues to accept the former owner's AWS access key, secret, session token, and device serial number after the device disappears from that owner's app. Exploitation requires prior full ownership and credential capture before transfer; control stays within safe device settings, and Dyson reports that it cannot reproduce the behavior.
