Stored XSS via unsanitized PDF rendering
Published Nov 18, 2025 · Updated Nov 18, 2025
Stored XSS in Kotaemon 0.11.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript through a crafted PDF. PDF extraction results are inserted into the Information Panel and Reasoning views as HTML without escaping or sanitization. A user with document-upload permission must supply the file, and execution occurs when a victim views it, exposing data and actions available to that browser session.
