CVE-2025-5648Public exploit

Local process crash via concurrent palette deallocation

Published Jun 5, 2025 · Updated Jun 5, 2025

A reported double-free in radiff2 in radareorg radare2 5.9.9 allows local users to crash an ASan-instrumented process via -T. The -T path starts concurrent analysis cores whose palette initialization frees the same console-color allocation in r_cons_pal_init. Reproduction requires a local ASan build and the experimental -T option; upstream states the race is not a real problem without ASan, so ordinary builds have no confirmed impact.
