Local process crash via threaded double-free
Published Jun 5, 2025 · Updated Jun 5, 2025
Double-free memory corruption in radiff2 in radareorg radare2 5.9.9 allows local users to crash the process through threaded diff mode. With -T enabled, concurrent radiff2 workers call cons_stack_load and free the same console buffer, producing an AddressSanitizer double-free abort. Reachability requires local execution of the experimental option with two inputs; upstream disputes a real-world race outside AddressSanitizer builds.
