CVE-2025-56332Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authentication bypass via permissive default rate limiting

Published Dec 30, 2025 · Updated Dec 30, 2025

Authentication bypass in fosrl Pangolin before 1.7.0 allows remote attackers to access protected resources by brute-forcing short codes. The /resource/:resourceId/pincode and /login handlers rely on a global 500-request-per-minute IP-and-path limit when the installer omits the authentication-specific rate-limit setting. Internet reachability and a PIN-protected resource or 2FA-enabled account are required; a guessed six-digit code grants the corresponding resource or account access.
