CVE-2025-5622Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Unauthenticated code execution via unchecked parameter copy

Published Jun 5, 2025 · Updated Jun 5, 2025

Stack-based buffer overflow in D-Link DIR-816 1.10CNB05 allows remote attackers to crash the router via a crafted HTTP request. The wirelessApcli_5g handler copies oversized apcli_mode_5g, apcli_enc_5g, or apcli_default_key_5g input into a stack variable without bounds checking, overwriting its return address. No authentication is required; the demonstrated request causes a persistent service outage, while controlled return-address corruption supports arbitrary code execution.
