Sensitive data interception via unvalidated WebView certificates
Published Sep 23, 2025 · Updated Sep 23, 2025
Improper certificate validation in Indian Bank IndSMART Android App 3.8.1 allows man-in-the-middle attackers to read WebView data. The published analysis states that NuWebViewActivity loads an Intent-supplied webviewurl into a JavaScript-enabled WebView without secure SSL-error handling. Exploitation requires control of the app's network path, and the documented consequence is exposure of login or OTP data without reported integrity or availability impact.
