Stored script execution via unescaped category names
Published Sep 30, 2025 · Updated Sep 30, 2025
Stored XSS in SourceCodester Web-based Pharmacy Product Management System 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to run browser scripts. Category Management stores an HTML or JavaScript payload accepted in the category name field and renders it in the category list without validation or output escaping. Adding a category requires an authenticated account with category permissions, and the payload executes when another user views the list, exposing that user's session and in-app authority.
