Unauthenticated device hang via SOAP request flooding
Published Oct 3, 2025 · Updated Oct 3, 2025
Denial of service in the TCL 65C655 Smart TV MediaRenderer allows remote attackers to interrupt all TV operation over the local network. The UPnP AVTransport control endpoint consumes resources while processing a sustained flood of malformed or oversized SetAVTransportURI SOAP requests without effective resource controls. No authentication or user interaction is required, and the television remains unresponsive through manual input and reboots until the request flood stops.
