Stored XSS via unsanitized SVG uploads
Published Sep 3, 2025 · Updated Sep 3, 2025
Stored XSS in Slink 1.4.9 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript in a viewer's browser through a crafted SVG upload. The upload path accepts SVG content without neutralizing embedded JavaScript, and a new-tab image view renders that active content in the viewer's browser. Uploading requires an account, but viewing the shared image does not; execution requires a user to open the image and permits browser-context data access or modification.
