Unauthenticated arbitrary file upload via missing access controls
Published Sep 18, 2025 · Updated Sep 18, 2025
Unrestricted file upload in ClipBucket 5.5.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to upload arbitrary files through the Plupload endpoint. The plupload branch in upload/actions/photo_uploader.php performs no authentication check before writing uploaded content into the dated photos directory. No account or user interaction is required; code execution additionally requires bypassing the file checks and a web server that executes the stored PHP file.
