Router crash via unbounded Wi-Fi security copy
Published Sep 3, 2025 · Updated Sep 3, 2025
Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda AC8 16.03.34.06 allows remote attackers to crash the router through a crafted Wi-Fi security value. The formWifiBasicSet path passes the security or security_5g parameter through sub_45F3E8 and sub_45E1C4 to an unbounded strcpy in sub_45DC58. A crafted POST to /goform/WifiBasicSet can disconnect every client and leave the router unreachable after a reboot; password-protected deployments require a valid management cookie.
