SQL injection via unrestricted Group By charts
Published Aug 20, 2025 · Updated Aug 20, 2025
SQL injection in Dashboard Chart queries in Frappe Framework allows remote authenticated users to read sensitive database information. The Dashboard Chart permission query omits Group By charts from its doctype restriction, allowing attacker-controlled chart query fields to reach SQL construction. Low-privileged account access is required; crafted requests can bypass the earlier patch and expose data outside granted permissions.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
