Authenticated data disclosure via order-by SQL injection
Published Aug 20, 2025 · Updated Aug 20, 2025
SQL injection in Frappe Framework before 14.96.15 and 15.0.0 through 15.74.1 allows remote authenticated users to read restricted data. The db_query order-by and group-by validator accepted attacker-controlled SQL fragments because its subquery detection and function blacklist omitted UNION, INTERSECT, and data-revealing functions. A low-privileged account must reach a query path accepting controlled order_by or group_by values; successful exploitation bypasses record permissions.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
