Remote code execution via unescaped paste-code title
Published Sep 9, 2025 · Updated Sep 10, 2025
Improper output escaping in XWiki Pro Macros before 1.26.5 allows remote attackers to execute code through a crafted paste-code title. ConfluencePasteCodeMacro.xml inserts the title directly into XWiki 2.1 syntax; the patch routes it through the rendering escape service before output. Page-edit rights on any page are sufficient to inject XWiki syntax that runs Groovy code with the macro's server-side privileges, exposing wiki data and service availability.
