Stored XSS via unsanitized chart column labels
Published Aug 14, 2025 · Updated Nov 4, 2025
Stored XSS in Apache Superset before 5.0.0 allows remote authenticated users to run script in a victim's browser through a chart label. The chart visualization stores a user-controlled column label without proper sanitization and renders it as executable content when another user hovers over the chart. Exploitation requires chart-edit permission and a victim's interaction, enabling session theft or actions performed with the victim's browser privileges.
