Application crash via unchecked VVC configuration pointer
Published Jun 9, 2026 · Updated Jun 9, 2026
NULL pointer dereference in GPAC MP4Box 2.4 allows attackers to crash the application by supplying a crafted MP4 file. During import of an MP4 containing an unsupported vvc16 sample-description box, gf_odf_vvc_cfg_write_bs dereferences a NULL VVC configuration-data pointer. The file must reach an MP4Box import workflow; exploitation terminates that process without reported data disclosure or modification.
