CVE-2025-55642Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Process crash via zero frame-count division

Published Jun 15, 2026 · Updated Jun 15, 2026

Divide by zero in GPAC MP4Box 2.4 allows attackers to crash DASH segmentation via a crafted AVI-like media file. The avidmx_process function in filters/dmx_avi.c uses an unvalidated zero frame count as the divisor when deriving a missing PID bitrate, causing an uncaught floating-point exception. Exploitation requires MP4Box to process the supplied file for DASH output; no authentication or special privileges are required, and the demonstrated consequence is a process crash.
