Authenticated privilege escalation via unchecked account creation
Published Aug 22, 2025 · Updated Aug 22, 2025
Privilege escalation in Reolink Video Doorbell WiFi firmware 3.0.0.4662_2503122283 allows authenticated attackers to create elevated accounts. The account-creation operation accepts an authenticated request without verifying that the caller holds account-administration privileges. A valid account can therefore provision a higher-privileged account and gain access reserved for device administrators.
