Authenticated service interruption via invalid timezone setting
Published Aug 21, 2025 · Updated Aug 21, 2025
Denial of service in Akaunting 3.1.19 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to trigger HTTP 500 errors via a crafted POST request. The /settings/localisation handler accepts a nonexistent timezone, and app/Utilities/Overrider.php reads the saved value without validating it before applying it. Authenticated access to localisation settings is required; the invalid value persists, causing subsequent page loads to return HTTP 500 errors and interrupt service.
