CVE-2025-5552Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated code execution via unchecked Groovy scripts

Published Jun 4, 2025 · Updated Jun 4, 2025

Code execution in ChestnutCMS 15.0 and 15.1 allows remote authenticated users to run arbitrary commands through the Groovy API. GroovyController passes the request's scriptText to GroovyScriptFactory.loadNewInstance and invokes script.run without validating the supplied program. A logged-in account with the Groovy execution permission can execute code with the server process's access to data and host resources.
