Unauthenticated command execution via forged dashboard JWT
Published May 8, 2026 · Updated May 8, 2026
Authentication bypass in AstrBotDevs AstrBot before 3.5.18 allows remote attackers to execute commands through a forged dashboard JWT. The dashboard's generate_jwt path and authentication middleware sign and verify HS256 tokens with the same source-embedded WEBUI_SK value, so attacker-created tokens are accepted as authentic. A network-reachable dashboard is the gate; a forged token permits installation of a Python plugin that AstrBot imports and executes on the host.
