Stored XSS via unescaped shortcode attributes
Published Jun 26, 2025 · Updated Jul 29, 2026
Stored XSS in eMarket Design WP Easy Events 4.1.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through shortcode attributes. The emd_mb_meta shortcode accepts user-supplied attributes without sufficient sanitization and renders them without output escaping. Contributor-level access is sufficient, and the stored script runs in the browser of any user who opens the injected page, enabling actions in that user's session.
