Account takeover via path-normalized password reset
Published Aug 21, 2025 · Updated Jul 5, 2026
Incorrect access control in jshERP 3.5 allows remote attackers to reset arbitrary user passwords through the resetPwd endpoint. UserController's resetPwd route accepts a crafted /user/login/../resetPwd path without an X-Access-Token header and applies the supplied user ID. No authentication is required, and selecting another account ID changes that account's password to the application's fixed reset value, enabling account takeover.
