Signature validation bypass via cleared modification status
Published Dec 11, 2025 · Updated Dec 11, 2025
Signature validation bypass in Foxit PDF Reader before 2025.2 and PDF Editor before 13.2 or 2025.2 allows remote attackers to conceal changes. Crafted PDF JavaScript alters annotation content and then clears the file modification status without triggering proper cryptographic signature revalidation. A user must open the crafted signed PDF; the displayed signature state can misrepresent document integrity, with no reported confidentiality or availability impact.
