Arbitrary code execution via annotation use-after-free
Published Dec 11, 2025 · Updated Dec 11, 2025
Use-after-free in Foxit PDF Reader and Editor before 13.2 and 2025.2 allows attackers to execute code through crafted PDFs. An OnBlur action destroys an annotation while internal focus-change handling retains and later accesses the released object during a right-click. Exploitation requires document JavaScript and user right-click interaction; successful memory corruption can execute code or crash the application.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
