CVE-2025-55294Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Arbitrary command execution via unsanitized format option

Published Aug 19, 2025 · Updated Aug 19, 2025

Command injection in screenshot-desktop before 1.15.2 allows attackers to execute arbitrary commands through the screenshot format option. Platform-specific screenshot functions concatenate the format value into shell command strings without validation or argument separation. Exploitation requires an application to pass attacker-controlled input to format, and commands run with the calling process's privileges.
