CVE-2025-55291Public exploit

Reflected XSS via unescaped tag-cloud page title

Published Aug 18, 2025 · Updated Aug 18, 2025

Reflected XSS in Shaarli before 0.15.0 allows context-dependent attackers to execute script via a crafted searchtags URL. TagCloudController places searchtags in the page title without HTML escaping, so a closing title tag escapes that context and injects markup. Exploitation requires a user to open the crafted URL; script execution occurs in that user's browser and can expose sensitive data or perform actions in the session.
