CVE-2025-55245

Local privilege escalation via link following

Published Sep 9, 2025 · Updated Feb 26, 2026

Improper link resolution in Microsoft Xbox Gaming Services before 30.104.13001.0 allows local users to elevate privileges. The service follows an attacker-controlled link before file access, but Microsoft has not identified the affected operation, path, or link-handling routine. Exploitation requires low local privileges and crosses the service privilege boundary; remote access alone does not expose the flaw.
