Remote code execution via unsanitized artist-page HTML
Published Jan 5, 2026 · Updated Jan 5, 2026
Code injection in muffon before 2.3.0 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary files through a crafted muffon:// artist link. The artist-page renderer passes untrusted artist data to Vue's v-html directive without sanitization, while the exposed openExternalLink preload API forwards file URLs to Electron shell.openExternal. A victim must visit an attacker-controlled page or click the crafted link; muffon then launches and executes the referenced local file.
