Stored XSS via unsanitized work item descriptions
Published Aug 15, 2025 · Updated Aug 15, 2025
Stored XSS in Plane before 0.28.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript in another user's browser via a work item description. The description_html field stores attacker-supplied markup without proper sanitization or escaping and renders it in the application context. A low-privileged account must save the payload, and another user must view it; execution can expose session data or perform actions in that user's context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
