CVE-2025-55193Network attack vector

Terminal output manipulation via unescaped record IDs

Published Aug 13, 2025 · Updated Aug 14, 2025

ANSI escape injection in affected Active Record releases allows remote attackers to manipulate terminal output through crafted record IDs. RecordNotFound message construction in core.rb and finder_methods.rb embeds missing IDs directly instead of inspecting them, leaving control bytes active. Exploitation requires an attacker-controlled ID to reach a failed find operation and the resulting message to be written directly to a terminal.
