CVE-2025-55191Network attack vectorHinoki check available

Authenticated service crash via unsynchronized secret access

Published Sep 30, 2025 · Updated Sep 30, 2025

Race condition in Argo CD allows remote authenticated users to crash the API server through concurrent repository credential updates. The secretToRepoCred path in util/db/repository_secrets.go reads shared Kubernetes Secret map data while informer resyncs and background watchers can write it, without mutex protection or a defensive copy. A valid API token with repository create, update, or delete permission is required; repeated triggers can keep the server unavailable and halt GitOps operations.
