Stored XSS via unrestricted SVG profile upload
Published Aug 7, 2025 · Updated Aug 8, 2025
Stored XSS in Agora fall23-Alpha1 before 690ce56 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript through an SVG profile image. The uploadProfilePicture route saves profile images without validating file content, so an SVG payload reaches browser rendering. A valid account and a viewer opening the image URL are required; the script runs in the viewer's browser context and can read or alter accessible page data.
