Stored script execution via unsafe tag rendering
Published Aug 7, 2025 · Updated Aug 8, 2025
Stored XSS in Agora fall23-Alpha1 before b087490 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript through a workspace tag. The renderTag function assigns the user-controlled tag to newTag.innerHTML, causing the browser to interpret stored markup instead of displaying it as text. An authenticated account that can set a workspace tag is required, and the script executes when another user visits that workspace.
