Stored XSS via unsafe topic name rendering
Published Aug 7, 2025 · Updated Aug 8, 2025
Stored XSS in Agora fall23-Alpha1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript through a crafted topic name. The topic tab renderer assigns topicName to a span's innerHTML property, causing stored markup to execute when another user visits the workspace. Workspace access and permission to set a topic name are required; injected script runs in another user's browser and can read or alter accessible page data.
