Root code execution via malicious backup configuration
Published Jan 8, 2026 · Updated Jan 8, 2026
Command injection in Veeam Backup & Replication 13.0.0.4967 through 13.0.1.180 allows remote authenticated users to execute code as root. A crafted backup configuration file reaches an undisclosed command-processing path that executes attacker-controlled input with root privileges. Access requires the highly privileged Backup Operator or Tape Operator role, after which arbitrary commands run with full control of the server.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
