CVE-2025-55117Network attack vector

Remote data modification via error-message buffer overflow

Published Sep 16, 2025 · Updated Sep 16, 2025

Stack-based buffer overflow in BMC Control-M/Agent 9.0.18 through 9.0.22 allows remote attackers to alter data via SSL/TLS traffic. The error-message formatting path writes beyond a stack buffer while handling remote SSL/TLS input, although BMC has not disclosed the affected function or formatting operation. Exposure requires use_openssl=N; releases 9.0.21 and 9.0.22 additionally require JAVA_AR=N, and the published impact is limited to data integrity.
