CVE-2025-55115

Local privilege escalation via relative path traversal

Published Sep 16, 2025 · Updated Sep 16, 2025

Relative path traversal in BMC Control-M/Agent 9.0.18 through 9.0.20 allows local users to escalate privileges on the Agent host. BMC has not disclosed the affected file-processing locus, the attacker-controlled pathname, or the privileged operation that fails to confine relative paths. Exploitation requires existing access to the system running the Agent and results in higher local privileges; the available advisories do not identify the attained account or privilege level.
