CVE-2025-55089Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Unauthenticated code execution via unchecked RAM-disk offset

Published Oct 16, 2025 · Updated Oct 16, 2025

Buffer overflow in the RAM disk driver in Eclipse ThreadX FileX before 6.4.2 allows remote attackers to execute code via crafted HTTP PUT requests. _fx_ram_driver derives a destination from logical-sector geometry without checking the RAM-disk allocation, then memcpy copies attacker-controlled data beyond the buffer. Exploitation requires a network-exposed application with undersized RAM-disk storage; a successful overwrite can redirect a function pointer or crash the device.
