Cross-site scripting via inline attachment rendering
Published Aug 19, 2025 · Updated Apr 13, 2026
Cross-site scripting in Mozilla Firefox for iOS before 142 allows remote attackers to execute script through a crafted attachment. The response-handling path ignores Content-Disposition attachment handling for some MIME types and renders the response body inline, allowing active content to execute in a browsing context. A user must open attacker-controlled content, and the resulting script remains limited to the affected browser context rather than gaining system-level execution.
