CVE-2025-55011Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated arbitrary file write via unchecked task ID

Published Aug 12, 2025 · Updated Aug 12, 2025

Path traversal in Kanboard before 1.2.47 allows remote authenticated users to write files outside task storage through the JSON-RPC API. The createTaskFile method accepts an unchecked task_id, FileModel::generatePath places it directly in an object key, and FileStorage::put writes that key without enforcing its base directory. Project access and API credentials are required; the filename is hashed without an extension, limiting direct execution, although manual deployments can expose writable executable locations.
